Group Classes

Puppies must be 16 weeks or younger at the start of class. Puppies must be current on all vaccinations (appropriate for their age)
It takes a village to raise a puppy! This course will not only give you information and resources for training and socializing your new family member, but also a community of other humans who can support you as you and your family navigate the world of puppyhood. Come learn about how to safely socialize your puppy, get help with common puppy challenges, and build a training foundation that you can grow from for your pups entire life. Each class is taught by a certified trainer and will meet 1 hour per week for six weeks at Windell Portraits.

Does your dog have a hard time keeping their paws on the floor? This is a common problem in younger dogs especially, but can be present at any age. It is important to teach your dog not to jump on people without being asked because they could easily injure a child or older person.
During this one hour workshop, we will focus on teaching the impulse control necessary to keep their paws on the ground in many scenarios. What to bring: -Your dog -Any humans that would like to actively participate (kids and adults who are ready to learn are welcome) -A 6-foot standard leash (no extendable or stretching leashes) -Whatever equipment your dog typically wears when on leash -Lots of treats! We recommend multiple types with varying value to your dog -A training pouch or other device to hold treats -Poo bags -A very exciting toy or object

Our workshops are a great way to learn how to handle specific issues! You must take the Training Basics Bootcamp or have a private lesson before attending any of the other workshops.

This one-hour* group session will help you hone your training skills so you and your fur baby can go on walks without the stress of pulling, lunging, or reacting to distractions. We will learn and practice at least three different leash training techniques and many tactics to deal with potentially stressful situations. come prepared to be on your feet for the whole lesson!

What to bring:

Your dog Any humans that would like to actively participate (kids and adults who are ready to learn are welcome)

A 6-foot standard leash (no extendable or stretching leashes)

Whatever equipment you would like your dog to wear for walking

Lots of treats! We recommend multiple types with varying value to your dog

A training pouch or other device to hold treats while you walk

Poo bags

*if you have not taken any classes or lessons with Notre Dog Academy, you will need to come 20 minutes early to learn the basics and will be charged an additional $10

This is a one hour workshop on come when called. If your dog seems to ignore you when you need them to come or doesn't quite make it to you, this workshop is for you!
If possible, it will be highly beneficial to have at least two humans per dog for this workshop. What to bring: -Your dog -Any humans that would like to actively participate (kids and adults who are ready to learn are welcome) -A 6-foot standard leash (no extendable or stretching leashes) -A long line (extra long leash) if you have one -Lots of treats! We recommend multiple types with varying value to your dog -A training pouch or other device to hold treats -Poo bags -A very exciting toy or object

This 2 hour outdoor workshop will teach you the basics of how to train your dog!

You will learn:

How to create a language that you and your dog can understand

How to set up your home and your schedule for successful training

Why we use the methods we teach (science!)

Three methods of training

How to begin training: come, sit, how to greet a human, walking on a leash, and more!

You will also learn many bonus tips and psychological principles as topics arise.

Each student will have one-on-one feedback and practice with the instructor and there will be time for questions.

What to bring:

A hungry dog (don't feed breakfast, or feed only a small portion if you are up early)

A regular flat collar

A 6 foot leash

Your dog's crate if possible and a blanket or bed

Something delicious for your dog to chew on (Ideally something that will last at least 30 minutes)

LOTS of treats of varying value (your dog's regular kibble can be one of them!)

A way to carry the treats hands-free (treat ouch, pocket, fanny pack, etc.)

A way to take notes - you will also receive a class summary

A chair if you anticipate needing one

Packages of Individual Services

4 in-home lessons to help you get through that very difficult time in your dog's life. Behaviors that most often require multiple appointments include reactivity, aggression, shyness, and behaviors that have been rewarded (sometimes inadvertently) for a long time. This package is also great for people who would like more time practicing with your trainer present. This can help you build confidence in your training techniques.
You do not need to use all of the appointments in the same place! Is your dog especially reactive in a certain place or around specific stimuli such as dog parks or geese by a lake? Are you planning on traveling with your dog and need to get them used to train stations, airports, parking lots, etc? We can meet you there! This package can be purchased for dogs of any age.
