What to know for your dog’s first day at Notre Dog Academy

Congratulations! You've enrolled your dog at Notre Dog Academy, submitted your application, paid your invoice, signed your waiver, and your dog's first day has been scheduled! What else do you need? It's pretty simple from here.

You will need to make sure your dog has an appropriately fitting flat collar (no chains, prongs, harnesses, etc.) to wear while at the Academy. You can bring them in whatever else they usually wear, as long as they also have a collar! Anything else will likely be removed once they get to the Academy and placed in a cubby reserved especially for them.

Please don't feed them breakfast unless you usually do so before 6:00 in the morning. Do bring their breakfast with to school! We will incorporate it into their training and make sure they receive it all.

Bring something delicious for your pup to work on any time they are in their crate. This needs to be safe for chewing on when they are not directly supervised. If you would like, you can add-on Kong service for the day for an extra charge. This extra service will provide an appropriately-sized frozen Kong stuffed with house kibble and peanut butter or pumpkin any time they are crated.

That's it! The only other things you need to bring are specific to your dog. If your dog needs lunch, please bring it in any pre-portioned container, ready to be placed in a bowl and served. If your dog needs any medications while at the Academy, be sure to bring those as well, with very clear instructions on how and when they are to be administered. If your dog comes with any leash that is not static in nature (does not stretch, expand, or extend), a house leash will be used for your dog's individual training when necessary.

Be sure to follow these directions to get here. The Academy is located in an alley, and if you try to use GPS, it will take you to a private residence!

From S Tacoma Way:

Turn East on 62nd Street and cross S Puget Sound Avenue

Turn left (North) up the next alley right before the white church.

If you reach S Warner Street, you’ve gone too far.

Notre Dog Academy is the bright blue building on the right, only two buildings after the church.

There is a small grass/cement patch to park on. Text us at 253.765.8118 when you arrive and we will come out to get your dog!

Drop off is between 8:00 and 8:30am and pickup is between 4:30 and 5:00pm.
